It is stemless to short-stemmed and can grow up to 50cm high. But mature plants vary greatly in size. Small plants often bloom when foliage is about 23cm in width and height, while large specimens ofter grow to be 35 cm. When the plant blooms it is very rewarding with a brightly coloured compound inflorescence that produces a great many fragrant flowers. The spikes are erect to spreading. The petals are flared cream, with a violet/blue edges, enveloping the stamens. It grows rapidly with favourable conditions. Bright, sunny and moderate damp.
